This is a great observation. The modern practice of manufacturing has slowly allowed us all to specialize, which can be a good thing until the guy who decides the product should be brown has never talked to the guy who makes the paint and has no influence with the guy who decides what features are going in the product. It’s not that you can’t mass-produce well-designed products, but I think you absolutely have to be aware of the ways the different parts of the whole process may get disconnected.
